Feed & Vaccination Program

Calves are on a full vaccination program including: Vision 7, Bovi-Shield Gold 5, and Merck Nasalgen PMH at turnout time.  At weaning they receive Vista Once, Vision 7 Somnus with Spur, and Merck Nasalgen PMH.  Two weeks later all calves are boostered with Somubac, Bovi-Shield Gold, and a Dectomax injectable.  They are then poured with Clean-UP 2.

Nutrition- Our cows are managed on a foraged based diet.  We graze native prairie pastures from mid May through October.  They are then moved onto fields to utilize fall grazing until the snow is too deep.  There is also access to salt and mineral year round.  Creep feed is presented to the bulls shortly before weaning.  Post weaning the bulls are put on a forage based TMR including: chopped hay (grass, alfalfa, & triticale), high moisture corn, wet distillers, canola meal, peas, and corn silage.  We feed to maximize genetic potential without sacrificing fertility, structural integrity, and longevity.
